Thanks

I have not been doing a good job at pointing out blessings in my own life. Hopefully this week that will change. M, W, and F mornings now, before I head to the gym, I’m only going to focus on 3 things - memorizing Scripture, prayer, and thanks. T and TH, I won’t be working out, but instead giving myself more in depth time for studying the Bible and other books. When I go for a while without thanks, it’s almost like I have a dry throat that needs quenching. Trying to quench that thirst this week:

- I’m thankful for my son’s speech delay because it is giving him a head start in school, he got to start a year early.

- I am so blessed by my son’s sense of humor. He brings so much joy into our lives.

- Thankful for a hearty, delicious, homemade dinner last night with the whole family back home again.

- I am thankful for (and humbled by) the generosity of my close friends.

- I am retroactively thankful for the Plymouth Neon that we no longer own (car accident) because it really helped when another car was in the shop.

- New friendships at the gym.

- For a Friday night spent with family around a campfire.

- The presence of my wife. After not having her home for most of the weekend, it was a marked difference (improvement) in the mood of the house once she returned. We’re better when she’s around.
